I am really excited about something we have recently rolled out to the volunteers at 12Stone Church|Central Campus in Lawrenceville. It is called the Weekly 5 – and it is a brief video (5 minutes or less) each week on topics which will inspire, develop or simply share 12Stone DNA. I filmed a video for this week’s topic on the idea of our Rights as an Insider:
- The desire to be an “insider” is a healthy thing
- We have one reason to rejoice – Luke 10:20, “…that our names are written in the Lamb’s book of Life.“
- Fight for humility or you will be in danger of leaning into “Volunteer Entitlement”
- Entitlement is the belief that my position or role means there are certain things I now deserve. (click to tweet)
- Volunteering does not entitle us to something, rather it makes us a servant
- Jesus did not use His position to benefit Himself, He used His role to serve others (click to tweet)
