One of the strangest transitions in life is going from being a single who is in charge of taking care of himself to married person to parent who is responsible for the care of someone else. That experience is pretty universal for anyone who has become a parent, but it is also a very real transition that happens when you step into a role of spiritual influence.
I was recently able to share a few thoughts on video about this concept. Here is a brief (2 minute) video on the question, “Are You a Cup or a Pitcher”
- Your purpose is to pour out, but you cannot fulfill your purpose without first being poured into. (click to tweet)
- What you fill up with is what you will pour out (click to tweet)
- Being a pitcher doesn’t make you better than a cup, it means you need more from God than a cup (click to tweet)
- Jesus was the ultimate pitcher, being poured out for the benefit of you and me (click to tweet)
Showing this at our Children’s volunteer huddle this weekend! So good! Thanks for sharing!

I really do like this, as this was really encouraging, as I always saw myself as a volunteer at Church, but never look at it this way before.
